1.6 million people in West Bengal did not take the second dose of corona vaccine

Of those who have been vaccinated with the first dose of corona in West Bengal, 1.6 million have not yet received the second dose. The state health department has taken initiative to find these people and vaccinate them.

Health department sources said many did not come for the second dose due to laziness and fear. Some people did not take the second dose after taking the first dose due to coronary heart disease. The Department of Health also said that many seasonal workers and members of the Central Armed Forces, after taking the first dose of the vaccine, returned to their workplaces elsewhere in the country, not taking the second dose.

According to a recent district-wise report of the health department, 16 lakh 9 thousand 84 people in 23 districts and 5 health districts of the state have not taken the second dose of vaccine till last Tuesday. Of these, 4 lakh 60 thousand 60 people have taken covacin and 13 lakh 29 thousand 14 people have taken covachield. Hooghly district has the highest number of non-vaccinations of the second dose, while Kalimpong district has the lowest number.

According to the latest report released by the state health department on Thursday evening, 210 people have been infected and 3 have died. Of these, 2 died in Kolkata and 1 in Jalpaiguri. The remaining 21 districts of the state were without death.

Coronavirus has killed 10,026 people in West Bengal. Of these, 3,100 died in Calcutta. 5 lakh 64 thousand 928 people have been infected with coronavirus in the state.

5 lakh 61 thousand 328 people have returned home after recovering. And still 3333 people are undergoing treatment in different government and private hospitals and clinics of the state. So far 1 lakh 29 thousand 349 people have been infected in Kolkata.
