Palestinians shot dead by Israeli troops in West Bank

One Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank. The incident took place in Beita village in the West Bank on Friday. The AFP news agency quoted the Palestinian Ministry of Health as saying.

A statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health said that Palestinians were involved in clashes with Israeli forces in the village of Beita. At that time the person was shot in the head. He later died at a hospital in the city of Nablus.

The Israeli military says it is aware that Palestinians have been killed. Hundreds of Palestinians hurled tires and stones at Israeli troops during Friday’s clashes. The army retaliated at one stage to bring the situation under control by dispersing them.

Palestinians have been protesting regularly in the West Bank against illegal Jewish settlements. There are about 475,000 Israelis living in the West Bank. In addition, more than 2.7 million Palestinians are living there.
