Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK) To Upgrade Core Network for Increased Capacity and DDoS Security
Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK) recently revealed that it has been appointed by Stealth Communications to upgrade the New York City-based internet service provider’s metro core network throughout this high-density metropolitan area. Shares raised 1.97% in pre trading session on Monday.
Nokia’s IP routing technologies will be used to construct a core router mesh network for enhanced capacity and scalability, allowing Stealth Communications to provide high-speed 100GE and 400GE services to its multi-tenant building business clients today and in the future.
Through an 80-mile fiber-optic system that connects hundreds of commercial office buildings, Stealth Communications delivers connection services to a diverse client base in enterprise industries such as finance, real estate, education, and government. To boost capacity and scalability inside its network and assure dependability, Stealth is investing in its metro core by deploying 400GE connection. Nokia will deploy its 7750 Service Router (SR) systems, which include its revolutionary FP routing silicon. Nokia 7750 SR-14s core routers with FP5 line cards for future-ready 800GE capability are included in the 7750 SR platforms. The FP4 line cards will be the first to be released.
Nokia will also collaborate with Stealth Communications to use the Nokia 7750 SR-1se and SR-2se to extend the provider’s IP core network to bring 100GE connectivity to its multi-tenant buildings.
Stealth Communications also chose the 7220 Interconnect Router (IXR-D2L) with SR Linux for cost-effective edge aggregation and automation to simplify deployment and management. SR Linux is a ground-breaking open network operating system (NOS) that makes data center infrastructure scalable, flexible and easier to operate.
