Another 28 Russian diplomats are leaving the United States in January

Russia’s ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov says Washington has expelled 27 more Russian diplomats. They will leave the United States on January 30. This information has been known from the report of Reuters.

Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov has expressed anger over the expulsion of diplomats from the United States. “Our diplomats are being expelled,” he said in an interview with Soloviev Live, a YouTube channel. A large part of my comrades are leaving us. The diplomat will leave the United States with his family on January 30.

Anatoly added that the Russian embassy in the United States was facing a serious staff crisis.

The YouTube channel aired his interview last Saturday. Russia claims that hundreds of Russian diplomats and their families have been forced to leave the United States since 2016 after relations between the two countries soured.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharov said that as of October 29 this year, about 200 Russian diplomats were stationed in the United States. Last month, the administration of US President Joe Biden announced that the number of US missions in Russia had dropped to 120. At the beginning of 2016, this number was 1,200. They claimed that Russia had to reduce its workforce due to repeated expulsion orders and various restrictions.

Visas other than diplomatic visas have been suspended at the US Embassy in Moscow this year.
