US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that Russia could choose a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine issue. But the United States will not be distracted by Moscow’s demands. He said this on Friday.
Diplomatic talks on the Ukraine issue are set to begin in Geneva, Switzerland, from next Monday. Earlier, Blinken issued such a warning.
“If Russia is involved in the conflict again, we are ready to use force,” said Blinken. But a diplomatic solution is still possible and would be very good if Russia chose this path. ”
The U.S. secretary of state said hundreds of thousands of troops had been deployed along the Ukrainian border. “Russia is presenting its immoral demands to the world through this,” he said. He added that Russia would not be surprised if it provoked and then took military action.
Tensions are rising between Russia and the United States over the Ukraine issue. Since then, US President Joe Biden has spoken more than once with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the issue. But no diplomatic solution has yet been reached.
Talks are set to begin on Monday to reduce tensions between the two countries. US Assistant Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and Russian Assistant Foreign Minister Sergei Ryakov will hold talks.
